Anyone want to lend me a torque wrench for a day? I can't believe they cost $100 at crappy tire, I had figured about $50.

I can lend you one Kris, but you can get them at Princess Auto for $40 (i think that's what i paid)

They come in two torque ranges w/ 3/8 and1/2 inch drives, depending on your application.

Ahh I bid on one on ebay, they seem cheap. If that fails I might try harborfreight since everyone in the US seems to love their cheap tools.

Yeah, the ones at Princess Auto are the "clicky" kind. not the needle kind. They are by no means Snap On, but they are alright.

Be VERY careful. I have a craftsman clicky, and I half stripped the oil plug on my bike. It's factory spec is 15 pounds and I set my wrench to 12. Didn't even notice it was stripping.

Yeah, them hand jobs are second rate to actual tool handling.... Clicky kinds I find are better to use...and Khyron, are you sure you didn't set it to 12Nm?

I use my mastercraft (crap tire) and its awesome. Set it for Nm or Ft/lbs, clicks when you are there.

12Nm is only about 9 ftlbs.

Is there a princess auto in edmonton? I need to get a torque wrench as well. Does anyone know how much they would be a parts source (I'll head over there over the weekend but I thought someone might know)
