I have a garage that's central if needed, about 5 blocks from the BP at the last meet. My house is still undergoing renovations after the fire, but the garage is still available, and a reasonable size. Unfortunately, I won't have my suspension for a while yet, but you guys are welcome to use my garage.

I dont work weekends, but Saturday would be best for me. I think I know where I might be able to borrow some airtools.

So the clay bar actually peels a layer off your paint right? How many times can you clay bar a car unil you get a little thin in the colour?

that is one shiny car hurts my eyes!!

No it doesnt peel off any paint, you can clay it forever and not do any damage.

All it does is clean your paint, by pulling off any of the bits of sand, dirt, metal, and so forth that get embedded in it over time.

Abrasives such as swirl removers, polishes, and scratch removers do slowly wear down your clear coat, be careful if you use them.

If its pulling off sand and stuff it would have to be removing a layer of something. Is it removing old layers of wax then?

Why would it have to be removing a layer of anything? Bits of stone and metal that you can barely see get stuck in your clearcoat, because your paint is basically being sandblasted as you drive. The clay sticks to them and pulls them out. Also, your paint has many tiny scratches in it, and those scratches get filled up with grime. Even if you wax, you will be waxing over the grime in those scratches. The clay bar actually pulls the dirt out of the tiny crevices, chips, and scratches that are too small to see.

Even if you are 100% sure your paint is clean, usually if you rub the clay bar over it a few times, then look at the clay, you will see some little black flecks and other crap that came from nowhere.

I highly recommend using it once a year.

No need for an impact, makes it easier with one but it can be done without, if you do need one though I can get an electric one but alas I have no decent impact sockets of the right drive size :( Really all that is needed is a sparkplug socket that is the right size for the top mount and a spreader tool (all though I got around it by taping in a socketed hex head and twisting it)

I have a buddy that I can borrow an electric impact wrench with metric sockets from. I am not too sure about this weekend though? Somethings have come up, and this weekend may not work.

Perhaps we can try to schedule in advance for a another weekend?
