  • Autothority chip for 96' 2.0?

Hey, I own a 96 GTI 2.0 and Im thinking of installing an autothority chip, saw it for 135 at GPR.com I had seen a shoot out at one time and this chipoduced the most HP. I'll have to use 92 octane ($) and i realize it will burn more gas. Is it worth it for a daily driver 12 extra HP? thanks for any advice, Kevin

I've never heard anyone who loved the Autoauthority, I would go Upsolute if you are in Calgary. You can even get a 94 (!) octane program from upsolute if you want. Boy Racer can fill you in on what kinda gains you would get, but I am guessing it would probably get you similar hp numbers.

I have a chipped mk3 2.0L and Im running the motronic ECU proggy, if you want a ride, im in calgary so lemme know and we can arrange it. It puts out similar gains, 10-15 is what the website brags, I think it is around 10 however, but yeah, lemme know.

and the gas milage difference isnt that big, of course it depends on how you drive, but for the most part is alright.
