  • Oil change and Test Drive?

    Hey All,

So as my ride reaches its first scheduled service appointment (I'm at 6,600 km's and counting) I am planning to take it to the dealership for what is looking to be its annual checkup (based on how many km's I drive per year). What I am wondering is this: Has anybody had the opportunity to drop their ride off for servicing and perhaps take out a Passat or Jetta GLI, etc. for an extended test drive while their car is being serviced? Not sure if this is possible however, if anyone has done it... it has got to be one of you guys!

    Any pointers?

    Cheers
    Rob

I tried with a tourag but my salesman wasn't around I talked with him one day when I was at parts and he said next time I can do it no problem. Just ask but ask the person who sold you your car of course.

When I bought my Jetta the key for the wheel lock was not the right one. My salesman, from 5th ave. picked my car up at my office and left me with a W8 Passat for the afternoon. Needless to say, I had to take it out for a spin. It made me reconsider my choice of cars, but I stuck with the Jetta for now.

You could ask, it never hurts. The worst they could do is say no, or laugh at you. Go talk to a salesman & tell him that you are thinking about upgrading. I would reccomend my salesman from 5th ave, but he is no longer with them. Too bad, he was great.

Yes, you are the original. Next time you should do a better job of my windows though.

Good luck with the 20AE, I will miss seeing it from time to time on my way to work.

No, actually... I did drive mine over the winter. However, I ride that nasty thing called "Public transit" to work all week. Hence, I have little time between weekend laundry, ironing, etc. to put miles on my car. Besides, myself and my two roomates all have new vehicles (ie. 2001, 2003 & 2004) so, it is usually a battle to see who gets driving duties to 7-eleven!

Thanks for the replies guys, I'll see what I can get from Southcentre.

                Cheers...
