Hi. New to the forum and looking to instal a programmer and exhaust on my 2012 VW Golf TDI. Wondering if anyone had any suggestions based on your experiences. Thanks in advance.

I would use Malone tuning,buy the flashzilla log and custom tune...as for the exhaust, BuzzKen on tdiclub is the best and priced reasonably http://www.malonetuning.com

I recently just got this in the mail from VW. ECM software update. Free service except of course the fine print. maybe get this done before tuning it. i don't know much(anything) about tuning but could be it overwrites this anyways so maybe no point in getting the dealership to update the ECM?? anyone else know?

I have a Malone tune and BuzzKen exhaust as well, highly recommended and they are both Canadian businesses.

With the flashzilla you should be able to just flash it again if the service update overwrites the tune

Since service is going to overwrite all the ecu info you will loose your tune, and malone typically charges something to retune your car. I had this go through with my first 2004 passat tdi and Mark charged me. Can't blame him, he has to look to see what the dealer changed (ie go through all the parameters) and then do all the modifications again.

Just trying to give you a heads up, you can ask him to see what he says as I am sure you won't be the only one that will have this issue.

That's strange Ben...I've had no less than 4 tunes and only paid the initial cost of the flashzilla and first tune

I think if you pull the tune for a dealer checkup you will be fine, mine was a full ecu reflash due to the glow plug recall then.

Exhaust don't know what your options are for these with all the dpf stuff, keep that in mind
