  • FK streetline coilover issues after install

Hi all, I am having an issue after I installed a set of FK streetlines on my friends 2006 jetta TDI.
When the wheel is being turned whether stationary or moving the springs are binding on the tops making a very noticeable popping noise, what I don't get is why FK would'nt supply a set of their own top bearings as the oem ones have them, has anyone had experience on dealing with this issue?

Did you replace the strut mounts or reuse the old ones?

Definitely sounds like strut mounts + bearings. If they weren't replaced, can be done fairly easily worth struts on the car still.

Well there's one more thing I should've mentioned. There's no top bearings ATM, I tried fitting the bearings(new SKF ones) in order of spring then the supplied FK metal cap, then bearing then oem mount,
then I tried order of spring, then bearing, then metal cap, then oem mount and iirc it didn't fit in either order but I will try again maybe there's a little detail I missed. Will drop the rings then check seeing if I can get the bearings in place. I have a feeling it needs to be in order of spring metal cap, then the bearing then the top mount.

Yeah get those in, hopefully I understood correctly that you got new strut mounts/bearings as they really are not that expensive and the mounts do wear out over time.

Also if the top nuts are over tightened you'll get a popping sound from the bearing.

Well I'll find out what the torque spec is so this doesn't happen
