  • GM synchromesh and your o2m tranny

Been having some difficulty shifting directly into 2nd for a while, read that some people have Used GM synchromesh and it helped things move better. Anyone local do this? I've heard people swear by it but also read lots of people warning not to do it. Can't afford a new ride, love my car, hate the idea of getting rid of it, but after driving my friends new 6sp s4... I'm getting sick of shifting 1st to 3rd to avoid easing it into 2nd

I used the AC Delco synchromesh and it worked great, used it on Colin's car too and i haven't heard any complaints so far.

I have an O2A, but no complaints here either, helped "fix" my second gear!

It works fine, but I preferentially go to Redline 75w/90 fluid. I find it the best.

I forgot about Motul, that is a very nice fluid as well. I ran that when I used to work at Tunerworks.

Park it in second gear. That fixed it for me.

Already grabbed some synchromesh, but I drive 100+ kms/day. I'll see how she goes and try the motul next.

                        Thanks for the insight.

75W-90? Seriously? That would be super thick....

Something is different about measuring gear oil weights and engine oil weights (can't remember what). But a 75w/90 gear oil is equivalent to a 15w-ish/50-ish weight engine oil.
