I bought the car in April of 2014, and put over 10k on the car. Not once abusing it. The last oil change i did was at 160k, sold you the car with 163k. Had i known the car had any sort of issue with oil pressure i sure would not have driven it Red Deer to meet you to trade cars as it could have left me on the highway as it did to you at any point.

As for what happened to cause the low oil pressure I am still curious, before you go out calling me an "idiot" id like to see you pull the timing covers and oil pan to see where it failed. If the oil pickup clogged, or a timing component failed I cannot see how that made me an "idiot"

To quote your text "Yeah well the oil light just started beeping at me and i pulled over, checked to make sure the oil was okay which it was, started it back up and kept driving but then it started losing power and finally it just quit on me"

Had you not continued to drive the car with NO OIL PRESSURE the engine in that car may have been ok and not seized if you had sought out to find the issue.

Now as for the main reason to this post - To save the engine you are putting into that car i have a full set of Chains and guides with less than 5000km on them(from a GTI i bought, paid to get chains done, and then it spun main bearings on me) I will gladly mail those down to you at my cost so you can do them before you put the engine with 140k with old chains and guides back into the car.
Well that's my mistake then! I honestly just found it easier to blame "THE previous owner" than anything else really. I am going to dig into the issue, see if I can find what failed once i have the swap complete.
To be fair, I never named you and no one on vortex knows I got the car from you lol. You're just a faceless scapegoat as far as seized engines go. Sorry Ben

Depending on timing some of us YEG people may even be driving down - I know Ben so I could easily pick up the chains. But I won't be going through town til February.

Wow lol. When the oil pressure light comes on there is already a chance you have done damage at that point.

Thanks for posting the actual facts Ben instead of somebody claiming that the damage was not their fault/shitty luck. In this case it is 100% your fault Evan, you might want to own up to it to save some face.

Also good on the offer for free timing chains, way to be a part of the community

It's not like he was calling Ben out... It's always easier to blame the previous owner

Eh yeah, my bad, like I stated, easier to blame PO than to Confess to ruining a motor, especially when it's 30 minutes after you get the car. Lol, again, sorry Ben.
Put as pat said, I never did call him out. Just blamed "the previous owner"
**** happens and it's easy to get frustrated in an instance such as this.
Thanks for the offer for the chains Ben but it's okay don't worry about it. I prefer picking my own, brand new parts.
