    Just a question,

    I was reading up on 18turbo.com, and it was talking about different engine codes, like AWD, AWP, and AWD. Which one is which? Does anyone know where I can do more reading on this stuff?

    Thanx

    Re: Engine codes

    hehe, I think you mean AWW, AWD and AWP....I believe that AWW was the 150hp K03 car (99.5-2000), AWD was the 150hp K03 sport (2000-2001) and AWP was the 180 hp K03 sport car (2002 +)

    Feel free to correct me if I'm not right....anyone....
    2006 Colorado Xtreme | AEM CAI | Walker exhaust | smoked glass | -1" dropped rear | Avic D3 | 8000K HID's
    2002 GTI 1.8t | C1 SS | Upsolute 94 oct | Brullen 2.5" DP | Supersprint catback | Poly mounts | 19" Privat's | FK 55 kit | Projector lights | EVOMS CAI

        Read the FAQ stickies in the 1.8T forum on Vortex. The above sounds right to me though.

          You're all wrong.

          AWD = KO3 at 0.6bar boost w/ 55mm dp (2000 and early 2001) Compression 9.5:1 -- 150hp
          AWW = KO3sport at 0.6bar boost w/ 50mm dp (mid/late 2001) Compression 9.3:1 -- 150hp
          AWP = KO3sport at 0.8bar boost w/ 55mm dp (2002-2003) Compression 9.5:1 -- 180hp

          everything you need to know is at the 1.8t FAQ

              Re: Engine codes

              so when's someone going to put in a K04Sport and get 1.0bar boost compression 9.7:1
              that'd be pretty damn fast.. 200+hp?

                ... is there even a KO4 sport turbo? The KO3 sport is just a KO3/KO4 hybrid. And 1.0 bar boost? That's a common boost when running a chip, but on 9.7 compression? errm, you shouldnt run higher compression with forced induction platforms.

                  www.vwvortex.com

                  TDI's have twice the compression and are still forced induction

                  i'm just playing.

                  simon is right, on gas engines high compression is dangerous if you turbo em.

                  the k03sport is it k03 compressor k04 turbine? (guess i could look on vortex)

                          AWD's are a perfect candidate for a turbo upgrade. Only AWD left without one is you Simon. C'mon, bite the bullet. Sell one your Brocks and get one.

                            I'm going to get myself a KO3 sport this summer and do it in my garage. Unless I get a really really good job I don't see any other turbo going in. I'm a poor college student :(
