  • 2008 passat need to replace rear brakes

I have a 2008 passat with the electric motors for a hand brake, the pads are wearing low and i would like to replace them
I have done a bit of reading and it shows me that i need a vag com or vw 5051 to return the motors or reset them before I can push the piston in
Is the any other way to do this with out the vag com, or taking to a shop that has one?
    Thank you

You need Vag-Com or a tool that can access the reset.

vag-com or similar would be easiest

but it is just a std 2 pin motor. Can hook up a 12v to the 2 leads and activate the motor but dont blame me if it goes wrong!

Yeah idk if I'd be trying this ^^. Not after you've seen the price of one of those calipers. Buy the program/cable or take it to someone who knows what they are doing.

Bought a scanner that has the ability to return the electric hand brake and reset to when done. Brakes now replaced.
