  • 5th ave service?

Guys how's the service @ 5th ave? I need to get my alignment done before I get ship off my 17s as I dont' want them doing it with my 18s on. Northland couldn't get me in so I just phoned up 5th.. 10am saturday. I'm sure they'll treat me nice since I've never been.

Are we really gonna reflog this dead horse? I'm sure there is a thread or two about this around.

At the very least we know how bart feels. Hahaha.

It's just alignment so they'll be fine. It's when you have some warranty repair that we'll need a full report. How come you went with a dealer instead of a normal wheel and tire place?

Why not just go to Trio motors? it's right next to the old 5th ave. I've heard of a few people using them. I'd bet they are cheaper than a dealership too.

and you have to realise that all the machines that go 'bing' will not change how many parameters they are easily able to change on our cars. The long list starts here:

But the nice thing about Trio is that for what ever can be adjusted they will happily ignore factory specs and listen to what you want. Big deal on my Porsche (many adjustments on both ends), small deal on my Golf but they showed the same interest in getting things right on both.

I've had all my cars done at Trio motors too, nice people. They screwed up once not plugging the ABS sensor back in, but took care of it and paid for new abs sensors and install without any fight.

I'm going to be taking my car to 5th Ave. for its next service. Southcentre Service Dept. has been chuffing my ass, whereas I've had nothing but great experiences with 5th.

I thought I heard somewhere that some of the alignment machines can't attack properly to the larger wheels. I would hope 5th ave can accomodate 18s or the few 25ths and 337s the sold won't have very happy owners.

Yah but all the dealerships got new machines because the Touregs roll on 19's and 20's dont they? So they should be all able to do 18's now.

I'd be worried about the dealership bitching about the suspension...I'm not sure if I'll take it to NL after I get mine installed....maybe they're friendly about it, I don't know.....
