  • Any MK7 GTI owners have this issue?

So I came across this thread at VWVortex. And I checked my wheels and they have the same issue but not as bad. Anyone here with a MK7 GTI have the same issue? And if so, have you brought it to the dealer and how did they handle it?

It looks like you're missing paint at where the wheel bolts go too, definitely not acceptable from a 2015 car

My reps have unpainted bolt holes like that... but they are reps. I'd expect OEM to be much better!

I'll remember to keep this in mind when I'm shopping around. At least they are taking ownership of the defect and replacing the rims.

The real question is where are all the wheels that have been replaced going? I wouldn't mind a cheap set of wheels

Haha you always seem to want to pick up good deals on a set of rims.
However I wonder how the actual quality is on these wheels if the paint is even getting past the QC with the manufacturer...

They are bulk repainting them somewhere and then offering them to people who come into replace theirs which are not painted correctly.

                    UPDATE:

I just got a call from VW Canada and they asked me to make an appointment with my dealership (Northland). I have to fill out a Corrosion Claim.

I have an appointment for the 24th, they will inspect and take pictures then send it to VW Canada for a decision. The service tech at Northland did say someone else has submitted a claim regarding the same issue.

                    Sounds promising.

That would be me haha. What's less than promising is how long it's taking them to get this resolved. I had pictures taken mid September and still nothing...

That sucks. I had my pics taken last week and she didn't even have the record of my appointment. So my hopes aren't high for Northland. If I don't hear anything by next week, I may take them to 5th Ave as well. Good luck!!!

Whatever happened to "POPP" who was a champion of Northland and how they have changed to overcome their former reputation?
