  • MKVII GTI tuning

So I picked myself up a 2015 GTI and have been waiting to see what options would be available. I know APR has had a tune for a while, but I don't like the idea of having to drive from Red Deer to Calgary or Edmonton to go back to stock tune if I need to take the car to the dealership for anything. Now Unitronic has released info on their tunes and there is a local dealer. Anyways main question, we have 91 Shell V Power or Husky 94. I've never had luck with anything other than V-Power in my chipped E30. I'm wondering what the chances are of being able to run the stage 2 with V Power? How about Husky 94?

My MK6 is GIAC stage 2 and I only use Shell 91... Hasn't given me any issues after nearly two years.

Ok. This might be a dumb question. I know APR and Unitronic say they can reflash to stock. But in order for that to happen, I have to get the tuner to do it.

So, if I'm on the road or highway and the car craps out. Does this mean I have to get it towed to the tuner first before I send it to VW for repairs?

Yes. Unitronic says they will be releasing Uniconnect which will allow you to do it yourself using a laptop at a later date.
