Anybody Know who owned this Phaeton w12 in calgary? Or who worked on the engine?

    Anybody Know who owned this Phaeton w12 in calgary? Or who worked on the engine?





    I really feel angry about what happened to this car. A w12 Phaeton is a very special piece of vw history and should have been treated much better than this. I really strongly suspect that the owner parked this car down by the water in Calgary so that it would be flooded and written off on purpose. Anybody recognize it?

    Enjoyed the videos. Reminded me when I took my vans 12V apart. I was not liberal with the RTV

      Let me guess, you bought this from Impact auctions, go look up the vin number at the registry and see who owned it last. If it was from impact and the one I looked at I might still have the vin number on my phone. I was washing the cars to look good in the photo's and surprised the girl taking the pictures by letting her know that car new was worth more then any others in that auction lot.

        you are correct that's where it came from and it wasn't cheap. Mainly I just want to find out who did the work so they can be held accountable, but I may look into doing a VIR

          That's crazy!!! Doesn't shock me that there was so many things "overlooked" to be honest. Some people can afford the car but not the work that's needed to keep it running right. Sad to see suck a sweet unit get put back together in that state :(

          What are your plans for that motor I am very curious.

                      Once insurance wrote it off it won't be allowed on the road as a whole car. The car was barely flooded and probably should not have been written off, I think the insurance agent just didn't want to deal with it again. I would so love to drive a healthy w12 phaeton, it would be a fun ride.

                        I am sure a rebuilt status wouldn't have been that hard considering the car. Still going to be fun to watch though.

                          The insurance companies made any car flooded pretty much non repairable. The phaeton was branded this to my knowledge, hence why I didn't bother with it.

                          They had many different auctions, some had some really sweet rides, brand new high end cars from the downtown parkades. It was so sad to see brand new top of the line corvette's flooded and being sent for parts.

                            A friend just sent me this link.

                            You beat me to the auction. Was planning on repurchasing it and registering the vehicle in the U.S. That was originally my vehicle. Written off and sent to impact auto.
