  • VR6 revving issues - I'm stumped!

So for the last week and a half, I can't get my VR swap to rev past 1500 RPM and I don't know why. I posted on vortex and got no replies so I figure since ED is usually more supportive and helpful, you guys can help me out. If anyone is able to come by and scan my ECU with vagcom, that would be greatly appreciated. Can pay with beer or moneys. Here's my vortex post:

It idles nice but immediately kicks the revs down at a very precise RPM, not more or less than that ~1500 mark. Almost sounds like a rev limiter. If I floor the throttle it seems to fluctuate between zero and 1200 temporarily (does not stall) but if I lightly tap it to ~1500, it gently kicks it down as if cutting spark.

    Other details:
    No CEL
    SAI delete
    EGR delete
    A/C delete
It has two year old 87 octane fuel in there with a can of octane booster... not sure if that would affect it.

O2 sensor wires are cut off and not connected.
Whole motor has been rebuilt with all new gaskets, timing chain/guides.

    I've tried/replaced:
    -Fuel pump (Walbro 255)
    -Fuel filter
-Crank sensor (Brand new and gives me ~925 ohms resistance)
-Coolant temp sensors (yellow & blue)
    -Spare coilpack
-Spare throttle position sensor giving me variable resistance (functional)
    -Spare cam position sensor
-Spare ECU w/ the same part number
-Spare VSS (Tested both to be good)
-Tested fuel pressure - 54 psi @ idle and 62 psi when hammering the throttle (to 1500 RPM...)
-Three different MAFs, MAF unplugged - no change

I know you say no cel but have you tried to blink it anyway?
