Hey guys. I am trying to make my own cold air intake for 2007 volkswagen rabbit. Ive seen photos from other forum and i notice that they dont have those sensors especially Maf sensor attached to the CAI . Is it still possible to run the car without any problem? Thanks! And please help me witht the project i needs photos thanks!

If you run without maf the car wouldn't be smooth on certain revs, such as idle, so you'll lose power instead of making any gain if you run a "cold air" without maf.Current Fleet

The computer will fall back on a default input. The car will most likely barely idle and stall, check engine light will come on, and it will have reduced power since the computer isn't using real time air flow data.Mitch

Test to see by unplugging your MAF. Chances are it will run fine but your gas mileage will suffer as the ECU will have to resort to a predefined table rather that adjusting on the fly. I ran maf-less for months while a waited for a very slow machine shop to CNC my maf adapter for my custom intake. Here is a picture of my maf-less intake that I ran before the flange was made up and welded on.
