I am looking into replacing my air filter in the near future and am trying to decide what route to go. I can either keep the factory engine cover intake and get a drop in filter or I can get a so called cold air kit.
disadvantage
Since the car is an auto the cold air kit really does not bring in much cold air because the air intake is in the same place as the factory and you can not use the engine cover which the engine looks like crap with out.
advantage
supposedly allot less restrictive then the factory air box but I could not find any real data that supports that.
Panel filter
disadvantage
keeps the restrictive factory air box
advantage
keeps the factory air box\engine cover, cheaper
let me know what you think and if you have had an fsi engine what route you went.
