  • Revo Big turbo program

Alright. I have a beta program of the Revo Big Turbo program which I need to get installed in Edmonton.

I think the club should buy a SPS3 unit and have it available at all club meets.

Well the club has limited funds and new stickers and T shirts are first on the list. How much is the unit and it would depend on how many people are running revo software. Plus you guys need to renew your memberships when they expire

You're a great guy with great skills and you're gonna do great. What the hell, i'm coming with ya. 3 people (including myself) want an SPS3. mark me down for 1/3 price of SPS3 unit ($470 - i just phoned = 156 each). lets get more people on this. Maybe even produce a group buy. I'm game.

it plugs into your OBD2 port and basically allows your ECU to switch between 91/93/100 octane, security settings etc although it goes beyond that and allows super custom timing and boost settings..

I don't think it is all that valuable if you're not running a bigger turbo... but I can see how it would be helpful if you are.

                    Re: Revo Big turbo program

Well, I'm only getting an SPS2 cause I only want stock/91/94 (that's the most you can get). So anyone who wants to tune based on weather or more gas choices, etc will need the 3.

SPS3 is designed for changing boost levels and changing timing. If you are confident you can run higher boost, sps3 is for you. If you want more hp play with timing.

boost doesn't make hp. tuning properly makes hp.

                        Re: Revo Big turbo program

geoff the SPS3 automatically adjusts for octane though so you can set the boost and timing to whatever and fill with 91 one day and 94 the next and it will compensate for it on its own

                          Re: Revo Big turbo program

Yah but if you're going to do that, you might as well set 10 timing/10 boost and let the car adjust. (It's mentioned on Revos site and will work but not the best way to tune...). The problem is going back upwards - once the car has compensated downwards it can take a long time to go back up. It will do it eventually, but upwards adaptation can take 1/4 to 1/2 a tank if not more.

Knowing myself, I'll probably go to all this trouble to get a switchable program etc and after the novelty wears off, end up leaving it in chipped 94 mode 99% of the time.
