Overall I was left even more impressed with this truck than I was before. I was able to take one of the first V6's out for a quick spin when they began arriving at the dealerships (big thanks, Derek ) and while I was floored with the build quality and all the features it packed, the V6 didn't seem to have enough oomph.
Now that I've driven the V8 I have to say that I would be hard pressed to choose any other SUV over it - including the Range Rover. It has some serious power and everything is so smooth! The transmission even seemed smoother than in the E500 (I'll be verifying that tomorrow if I can sneak my dad's keys away from him long enough).
The only negatives I could even think of (and this is stretching it) is that the steering felt a little too power-assisted (ie: light) and the 'sport' and 'auto' suspension settings were a bit harsh over bumps - 'comfort' setting remedied this though.
Anyway, I'm basically falling asleep as I type so I apologise for the crappy write-up, but I'll add to this post tomorrow. Hopefully we'll have an Off-road Grey/Black interior Touareg V8 in the stable soon!!
