  • MK6 Jetta Facelift

Volkswagen has taken the wraps off the 2015 Jetta facelift which will make its public appearance later this week at New York Auto Show.

The revisions start with the front fascia where the updated Jetta has received a Passat-like look with optional bi-xenon headlights and strips LED daytime running lights. Moving to the back there's a revised trunk lid with a ducktail spoiler along with LED taillights for the GLI and Hybrid versions. Volkswagen says the 2015 Jetta has been aerodynamically-optimized thanks to the reworked body, modified rain gutters near the A-pillars and the changed underbody panels.

Minor tweaks can also be found inside the cabin as mid- and high-end trims get chromed edges for the dash and gauges, as well as a new multi-function steering wheel, updated air vent controls and piano black accents. Volkswagen is also introducing new seat fabric colors and designs, ambient lightning and additional chrome accents.

The 2015 Jetta facelift can be configured with a wide array of safety assistance systems such as blind spot detection, frontal collision warning and rear cross-traffic alert.

Still riding on the PQ35 platform (Golf V), the updated Jetta carries over the engine lineup but the 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter turbodiesel now develops 150 bhp (112 kW), representing a 10 bhp (7 kW) increase. In this configuration the manual-equipped sedan will do 32 mpg city / 45 highway / 37 combined.

The 2015 Volkswagen Jetta facelift will be showcased in a few days at the New York Auto Show before going on sale in the second half of the year.

Anytime I look at the new jettas in Stock form I can't stand them. But once in a while I'll see one heavily modded an I say damn, I'd drive that in a heartbeat.

Looks to be a nicer cluster? Maybe that is just the trim level. I find the current cluster very basic and lacking. I do think the more recent ones at least allow for negative double digit temps on the outside temp display. The first ones went to -9, then 10, with no '-'.
