i think its 2000+ they did it cuz on the B5 audi a4's they started in 2000 so i'm just assuming they did it across the family board

What is next to impossible is left foot braking because you aren't just blipping the throttle, it is constantly applied and it will cut out after you have the brake on for a second or two.
heel/toe as in braking and downshifting at the same time? so i mean, clutch in, brake with right foot, and blip the throttle with the right foot while holding the brake during the downshift?

Yah I just double checked - as long as the clutch is in, you can brake and blip all you want.

Yeah, I tried it tonite aswell, you have to have the brake depressed, and the throttle engaged for about 3-5 seconds before it cuts it out....

ok, i went and tried it, soon as i press my brake, its cuts the throttle right away!

and like i said, i also verified that me pressing all 3 down while stationary cuts the gas too. maybe all the cars are not the same? either way, no biggie, i can do it fast enough without heel/toe manuevering, lol. even solo2 i manage without it.

ps: no more $100, i spent it, i bought 2 a4 touring race cars!

Re: Slowing Down...down shift or brake?

i think in order to get this sorted out we might have to do a heel-toe test on a track day...

i personally learnt my skill from my old golf VR6 mk3... up and down edgemount.... (shaganappi. trail and edgemount dr.) i have been heel and toe ever since... i found traction is maximized when you do heel and toe (since you match the rpm, the wheels are less likely to spin on you when heavy braking), plus you gain alot more control with heel toe because the engine can still control the car, rather than just disengage clutch and brake heavy...

it is very dangerous to drive fast and not heel -toe. especially on the street where late-braking is important (the street race)....

i myself sometimes heel-toe to 1st. and i have found no problem with transmittion
