So I have a front brake issue....After braking I get a metallic sound from the from end. If I apply the brakes the sound goes away. I pull off one of the front wheels and I see lots of brake pad remaining but on the inner surface of the front brake rotor there is only a small shinny worn area and a large rough rusty area. I am thinking this is due to a sticky caliper? I am able to pry the piston back without any trouble. I have some new pads but I wanted to replace the front rotors too (rather than just get them turned). I see that Canadian Tire has some ATE brand rotors on sale starting tomorrow....Buy 1 get 1 free. They are calling them a Premium rotor and they have the elliptical groove in them. So I have a few questions -
1) Does my issue sound like a sticky caliper or perhaps the pads are hanging up in the caliper a bit.
2) Has anybody used the ATE brake rotors before?
3) Am I better off with just getting stock rotors, the ATE ones (they are half price) or some other aftermarket rotors...I had no complaints with the stock braking performance.
Thx
