  • Sweat'in the little things.....

Okay I purchased the VW in September 03....Now I have had it in to the shop 5 times already:

    1) floor mat plug/mount/thingy ripped from floor before purchase....no biggy
    2) window regulator passenger broke.....permanent open window (winter)
    3) Break-in......bastard smashed and stole some things....just a PISS OFF!! Repair door...
    4) driverside window regulator broke....again open window (winter -35°C)
    5) sun/moon roof NOT funtioning.....

Have I recieved the only jetta build on a monday or friday or is this pretty common???

What year is your Jetta? The window regulator problem used to be a common problem in around 2000-2001 I think.

Window regulators are a common MK4 problem, the breakin is not so much a problem, but does happen to the cars a fair bit too! So really your only problem is the sun roof and I have not heard too many issues with those, but hey don't sweat it!

To be honest, your list isn't really that bad. Basically your one problem is that you had trouble with your sunroof.

Window regulators are is unfortunately a known (recall) problem affecting all cars across a couple of years.

Of the other two items on your list, one was a pre-purchase problem. This is probably the dealership's fault and not the car? IE someone tried to take out the floor mat and tore it, etc etc.

Finally, someone broke into your car. How does this make your jetta "built on a monday or friday"?

The point I am trying to make is... maybe you just need to put it into perspective. If it was all covered under warranty, I would be really happy.

That sucks Johnny. The list isn't too bad though. Sounds like you just had a small string of bad luck. As long as the dealership takes care of you and your problems, then I would'nt worry too much about it.

BTW - Did you get your suspension form PG Performance yet?

The regulators should have been replaced with metal clips - basically once it breaks you shouldn't have that problem again. My car is a 02 so I may or may not have metal (waiting for the hammer to fall sucks).

You should have had your coils redone as well.

Our cars have little stuff break but you should be safe from the big bills.
