I was going to go to Concept1 and pick up a set of KonigSport Coilovers. I was wondering if someone could teach me how to install them? Also I was wondering if I could pick up a membership card (Canadian Turbo :P Ill PM you too) If anyone could help me out it would be much appreciated!! Thanx a million!

Is C1 cheaper than the GB on vortex? The GB closes March 12 I believe.

yea get those silverlines.. all coils now are going to stainless steel as they don't rust up and seize which is awesome for a climate like ours..

Ummm unless you are quite mechanically inclined, you can't install your own suspension. Mine took me a full day, with my dad's help who is a car nut. Save yourself the hassle and jsut get em installed. PLus you need a good number of tools.

I agree with Nick, unless you are really skilled or have a lot of tools, you are probably better off having a shop install them. Your best bet is to do it somewhere that specializes in that kind of thing, if you can find it.

Hmmm, here's some food for thought. Quote from H&R feature on VW Vortex....

"We asked H&R to give us their take on the material they choose to use for their coil-over shock bodies. While some manufacturers are using stainless steel as their material of choice, H&R prefers to continue to offer the quality of steel they’ve been using for years. They told us that stainless steel is somewhat less rigid than other types, and as such, in order to maintain the integrity necessary for this heavy-load bearing component, it is necessary to make a thicker and heavier shock body to compensate. In addition to added weight, a thicker strut body will not dissipate heat as effectively as a thinner structure, and therefore, H&R chooses not to use stainless steel for these applications. They suggest that with proper maintenance and care, their coil-overs will last as long as any on the market, even in areas where road salt is used in the winter."

I did my fronts in about 3-4 hours and the back are dead simple so about an hour. But I would phone around for some prices if you don't want do it yourself. I phoned around and most where idiots or would not install something they did not sell so I just did it myself.

I've been searching, and can't find your post which listed what tools you needed to do your coilover install. Can you please direct me to it? I'm thinking of getting in on the GB for those FK coils too.

                    This might help:

I think there's another one out there somewhere specific to the H&R Coilovers or something. Try the FAQ in the suspension forum on the vortex.

Check it out guys! I found this set, slightly used for 800 USD. What do you think, good deal? They're H&R full coilovers, here are some pics. The dude said that he only used them for 8500 miles, so thats not that much.

                            Lemme know

                            Thanx

EDIT: I just found out this set doesnt have dampners, are they super important? What exactly do they do?
