I did this about 5 or 6 years ago as one of the first mods to my last jetta. Works amazing, i tucked it up under the headliner and around the edge and it gave me hundreds of feet to play with. Highly highly recommend this

I have my dash apart to complete the turn signal wiring this weekend so I think I'll do this at the same time!

Awesome mod! Took less than 30 minutes. What I did was splicing a new wire to the antenna then routed it along the inner door seal.

Did the mod, passed a wire along the door trim all the way to the end of the passenger side. Not only has the range increased but it feels like it responds faster at close range too. :-)

Dang wish i saw this DIY when i had my interior bits all out when i did my sunroof. Countless times i've had to walk right back to the car in a parking lot cause i couldn't confirm if i locked it or not.

I was planning to this as well a few years back but since i got my 2-way compustar, the range on it is pretty far already.
