24 hours away from my 4th MKIV!!!!

Yes, it is true. I'm even finding it hard to believe. I am about 24 hours away from finalizing the purchase on a Jetta GLI, (no its not the 2004). VW has great offers right now on 2003 Jetta's. I am trading in the GTI, mostly because of the impracticality for my wife and I. Also, I really like the fact GLI is a bit more luxurious and smoother. Oh, the 6 speed don't hurt either.


I saw on an earlier debate about the 1.8t vs the 2.8. Well, as far as I'm concerned I believe that 2.8 engine is so much smoother with a strong power band. PLUS NO TURBO LAG. That's what i prefer. Anyways, i'll post once everything is done.

June 1994 - 1994 Jetta MKIII 2.0 GL
November 1998 - 1999.5 Jetta IV 2.0 GL
June 1999- 1999 JettaIV VR6 GLS
June 2002 - 2002 VW GTI 1.8t
March 2004 - Jetta GLI?????????



Plus I would consider the Audi A4 a VW so in real fact I've owned 5vw's going on my 6th.

stronger power band? i dunno, i think i like the turbo lag better.... lol

i 'estimate' you will have car length on me in a drag race from 0-180km/h, from previous experience anyway, but who knows! ahaha.

Bart, I by no means think the 2.8 engine is better than the 1.8t engine. I own two 1.8t's right now. I just like something difference, and I liked how the 2.8 is smoother than the 1.8t that all. In fact, my preference was to buy a TDI, but they didnt' have any 2003's left.

LOL, I am getting the black leather seats, but I don't think i want to sell them. They're probably the best part of the car

Glad to here you are still thinking of going with a dub Volinder!! There is nothing wrong with a VR6 or 1.8T I have had both and I like them all (even 12Vs!). Any mods planned???
