so i finally decided to post up some pics of my bumper shaving and molding, so any comments or ideas would be greatly appreciated. i used a platic filler for the rubstrips and i am looking into a more flexible plastic type material to mold the valence to the bumper. these pics are of the rear bumper, i havent started the front yet... also was wondering if anyone has some ideas about filling in the lower vents on the front bumper...maybe fill the 2 outer ones and leave the middle...i am not sure...toying with lots of ideas rite now. so any imput is greatly appreciated! thanx guys. this is a link to my inspiration to do this the gti matador bora.. http://www.borabase.hostrocket.com/G...0Wolfsburg.htm very clean indeed! sorry for the pic size i am the worst with pic sizing hence the reason i do not post any pics. if someone can resize and post for me i can remove thse huge ones lol

Re: My First Shave!
I'm totally into the whole smooth look also. I did alot of research into shaving my GTI back about year ago. I was told, and I saw alot of articles on the vortex about how it was done. Guys on the vortex, as well as my body shop guy didn't recommend using plastic filler. They said it will inevitably crack/break/chip easily etc... They said the proper way was to fuse plastic strips on the bumpers, and weld metal strips for the body panels. I have no experience in the situation, i was deterred after seeing how much work was going to be needed. Good luck with the project, you'll probably be Calgary's first shaved MKIV!!!
