  • Cold temps and a 2012 Tiguan

So Tuesday morning my wife got in her Tig and started up and went off to do drive the kids around and do errands. After a while she noticed that her airbag light was on in the instrument cluster. Also all the functions to control the stereo and the MFD were inoperable. And she can't answer her phone through the steering wheel. Does anyone think this will pass after this deep freeze or should I take it in? Anyone else have the same issue. BTW my 2012 GLI does not have the same issue and be both park outside.

I would take it in regardless while the codes are up and stored as they may clear. My 2013 R electronics behave WEIRD in the cold -- the Navi unit may shut off periodically, I'll get the random "no key found" when the key is in my pocket (only happens when its -20 and below). No codes on my end though so hard to prove to the VW tech that something is wrong.

    Cheers

My 2007 Passat just hates the cold! I can plug it in at home during the night and in the morning it starts fine, but I cant plug it in at work. So when I start it after work I get the EPC, traction control, low coolant lights come up with a rough idle. Last year when this happened I had to replace all 4 coil packs before I could get the dash to stop lighting up. Car is going in Tuesday to get looked at and hopefully repaired, cant wait for this bill right before Christmas......

my car flashed the esp inoperable and run flat inoperable messages. The code cleared after restart and all was fine but took it in anyway and they still replaced some sensors. I took a picture with my phone and showed the techs too. I hope you took yours in.

The NAVI does that because it's too cold for the screen to function. Mine does that too; plays music but the screen is off. Once it warms up, it turns on.
