Also..is there anywhere i can go to get a manual for my car, or should i just order one online?

Re: my '96 GTI...
Welcome to the boards! Another MK3er woo hoo!! Manuals can be sourced from many places like C1 or even online, and if you have any question you can just ask as most of these guys know a lot! Is your car a VR6??Blair

Re: my '96 GTI...
Bently Publishing sells brand new OEM manuals for VW...
Here's a link:
Manual
While you're at it, you should also probably get the repair manual. The CD versions are the best...
Here's a link:
Repair Manual
Concept1 can get at least the repair manual for you, but their price isn't always the best.
Just some info...huh?

Now I have permission to talk about it, I didn't want to upstage your post!
I am glad to say, its a lovely Mk3 GTI with a VR6 under the hood. I do not know the color name, kind of a dark purple? Someone who knows all the paint codes fill us in
The previous owner put a shorty cone-filter intake under the hood, painted the brake calipers, aftermarket stereo, the trunk is wired for a subwoofer... 16" stock alloys... possibly ignition wires? I have no idea how to tell if its chipped or not. Oh, and it is also the lowest Mk3 I have yet seen. I have no idea if its on coils or springs/shocks but in the rear there is nearly zero wheel gap!
Anyhow, it looks pretty great. I have yet to go for a ride thoughKR

I think its darker, more blue-ish. But at the same time, I don't think its the same as Bart's car, which looks purple when indoorsLast edited by Kor; 03-04-2004, 05:37 PM.KR

Re: my '96 GTI...
Well I think I may have to see this GTI soon, cuz I do have a soft spot for mk3s, plus I will have to see how low it is so I can be lower!!!!!
I would have to see the color to identify it, but I am not sure if dusty mauve was availble in 1996, it could be mulberry but that is very purple and not too common around here. If it has a fair amount of blue it could be windsor blue, or there is also soft violet or twilight violet but I think I should just see itBlair
