New Club Idea...

OK, whenever we get together for club events there always seem to be alot of pictures and stuff.... but never any video. I was thinking we should do a club video. I know CVD has talked about doing a promotional video... but I wasn't thinking along those lines. One of the Bimmer clubs I used to belong to made awesome videos. I was thinking that from now on I'll be bringing my video camera to meets, dyno days, and cruises. That way I should get some good footage of everyone's cars. At the end of the summer I can edit it all together and make a nice 25 minute (or so) video that'll wrap it all up.... Would be a cool idea I think. I'm a decent editor, and I know some of the guys here are Computer Guru's... so what I dont know.... they will. Kinda memorialize the summer. If i'm not at an event or something, I'll just leave my video camera... and someone else can grab the footage.

What do you guys think?

That's a great idea. I have been thinking about doing something along those lines as well. But making short clips to advertise the club that we could post on different boards. This idea sounds really good too though!

That's an awesome idea! Really good. I have done some editing in iMovie before, so if I can be of any help when the time comes just let me know. We could burn them to DVD too and people could buy them (basically for the price of the media). We could also have video clips on the new upcoming NewVeeDub site.

I was thinking a longer video... that we could play at events too. I know CVD wanted to play theirs at WOW, and I dont want to step on their toes at all.... so we'll see what happens. But I'll bring the video camera starting tommorow.

I usually use adobe premiere...
If you could burn it to DVD for everyone at the end of the summer that would be awesome.... Everyone can pay for the price of what a DVD costs... unless they want to donate to the "Colin needs Mod Money" fund

colin what kind of camera? i have a sony mini dv; i'm a umm filmer i spose lol.. i'm pretty good with premiere, after effects, etc but it depends on how much i feel like working

Cool... Premiere is much better than iMovie. I'm on a Mac so when I do my next project I'll switch to Final Cut Pro... or at least Final Cut Express. I don't have a DVD burner, but i'm sure somebody does (Ryan does I think).

yes yes bill. i've owned a dvd burner since they costed well too much lol.. even if other people film aslong as its on a mini DV or standard DV tape i can edit it and do the final production,etc and the mass burning lol...

Ryan... I'm not sure what the specs are on the camera I have. (It's a 3 year old sony, and was great when we bought it, and it records onto mind-DV)....... I love playing around with video. We could add some cool photos into the video as well. Like I said... I was gonna make this more informal.

haha yea.. you guys can edit parts yourself and toss them my way at the end.. doesn't make much of a difference to me.. i should show you guys some hilarius stuff i've made before with photoshop and premiere like a still picture that comes to life or doing fight club style flashing 2frames in a clip LOL.. takes lots of time tho

LOL only if i'm voted to do so.. i don't want to steal anybodys shiz from them.. i make movies all the time so i just know what i'm doing with premiere,etc but if anyone else wants to well...........

Also, it depends on how formal we want to make this (Internal club thing, or a more external thing) I personally as thinking a more internal thing would be more fun. If it was to be external we would have to be careful as to the "driving" footage that we show.

i agree here, much more fun can be had if its kept internal and we could have silly inside jokes that only we would get. oh the silliness!
