  • mk4 jetta item hid aiming and adjusting +, battery/alternator

I didn't get a chance to hook up the new rehostat to do the electronic leveling of my hids. My beam pattern is much too near and its way off.

Anyone in Calgary able to adjust this for me tomorrow? I'll also need a new battery or perhaps a new alternator.

Long trips always manage to kill the weak mechanicals.

Wont be able to lend you a hand but this will help you sail through the aiming http://www.angelfire.com/droid/reefvw/aim.html

Edit: took me less than five minutes in total to measure, mark, and adjust in a underground parking lot at 10pm.

They are only throwing light over 15 feet.

I guess the question I have is, can the leveling motors be adjusted without the switch?

Read the info in the link. You can aim them no matter where the motors have them pointed. If and when you get the rheostats fixed, you may need to aim again. Tape on the wall , measuring tape, screwdriver and 10 minutes is all you need.

Hmm, I've tried with just the two other adjusters, but even adjusted all the way both ways it's not throwing right. I guess I'll have to try again tonight.
