With the Freedrive tour, I've seen on a FB page that the MKVI GTI has been to a couple of locations, just wondering if anyone actually knows if it's going to be in Calgary? I may take a drive up to check it out if it is.

Sorry, missed an I. Meant to type MKVII
MK7s are still a while off for the North American market, maybe next year.....

And I am not sure how you guys can think that rear end is not hot, looks amazing, the front could use some work though.

        I like.

Still needs a 6 cyl though. They should stop screwing around and just make it a 3.2VRT.

I really like the look of this. I do agree with making it a 3.2

I agree, get some nice 18" 19" rims on low profile tires slammed. I would not complain about driving behind that. The front end to me is just another VW. though I'd like to put those headlights on my MKVI JSW.

the front bumper looks kinda cheap in that photo, looks like it would be the lower end golf. im also not even close to a fan of the rear, thats just my opinion, done up im sure ill love some but im annoying and picky and stupid.
                I take pictures for money.

I do agree with you there....looks more like it should be on a trendline level Golf not an R.

The teaser looks like it should have fogs.

The more I see this, the more I want. Stage II officially on hold until I see more on the NA specs.
                        I'm not opposed to a 3.2 either

I think the front end looks much more aggressive than the Mk7 GTI's, Yet still classy looking and not all boy racer. The more I see the more I want it. And the White really does it for me as well.

Possible VR6 under development at VW, but will be not be NA as the other rumors are suggesting that VW will use turbos across the board.

Volkswagen is allegedly working on a successor for the highly-acclaimed VR6 engine.

Work on the all-new narrow-angle V6 direct-injection gasoline engine is being supervised by Fritz Eichler who is Volkswagen's new head of engine development. Before making the switch to VW, Eichler worked at AMG where he was in charge of the latest power units. While previous VR6 engines were naturally aspirated, the new one will adopt forced induction and could turn out to be a twin-turbo arrangement.

Volkswagen previewed this engine back in May at the Wörthersee meeting where they showed the Design Vision GTI concept powered by a twin-turbo V6 3.0-liter engine featuring a narrow angle design. The motor is capable of outputting 503 HP (370 kW) and 413 lb-ft (560 Nm) of torque between 4,000 and 6,000 rpm.

However, the production engine is expected to be less heavily tuned and with a smaller liter output, with power estimated between 340 HP (250 kW) and 450 HP (331 kW).
