A Volkswagen representative revealed the company's plans to turbocharge its entire lineup in the near future.

VW’s executive vice president for group quality Mark Trahan told The Detroit News on Tuesday the company will replace its three remaining non-turbo engines (2.5-liter five-cylinder and two six-cylinder) with turbocharged mills. This will happen in three to four years maximum as “you have to have a turbo these days.”

This news follows another similar statement made by Ford’s vice president of powertrain engineers, Joe Bakaj, who said conventional engines could be dropped entirely from the firm's lineup, with the exception of hybrid models which will have a regular gasoline engine working together with an electric motor.

Congrats on the deposit, I think it could be a long wait though, I would guess a 2015 model at the earliest?? According to VW the first deliveries of the new R will not arrive in the UK till March for this market.
