  • Hatchback Tray!

    Best. Idea. EVAR!

    http://www.ecstuning.com/News/Volksw...k_Storage_Tray

I wonder how easy to install/dismantle this? I have to take off the hatch cover often because of hockey gear but I've always wanted extra storage w/o installing those difficult seat trays.

    Re: Hatchback Tray!

I remember reading these used to be hard to come by. I'm pretty sure they just sit on the rails that the cover sits on, so it's like 5 seconds to install or remove.

Looks to be just as easy as removing the rear cover. Can't go wrong for $100 rather then trying to track down somebody selling the OEM one.

I have the tray, you simply pull towards yourself and lift up.

It may be only $99, but shipping is expensive. I lucked out and found mine locally for an awesome price.

Yeah, the OEM ones are hard to find. People usually want a lot for them too.

Yep, that's the biggest thing. ECS wants $165 for shipping + duty.

The coolness factor just fizzled when I saw the shipping cost. :(

I would keep an eye out on Vortex, I've seen some in the last month or two go for $50 + shipping.

I'd also check ebay and search up "Volkswagen Storage Tray" and "Volkswagen Shelf"

Good find! I'm going to place an order tonight. Shipping is the same for 2 pieces as it is for one. Anyone want to join me? I'll place the order for both. We'll be sharing a total shipping cost of $115 so just under $60 each.

                      Re: Hatchback Tray!

I can probably grab some from France for cheap this summer. I'll ask my aunt for the price tonight and let you guys know.

EDIT: $110 in late August. Can only bring two due to its size, 110cmx40cm. PM me if anyone wants to save a few tens who doesn't mind waiting.

Update for the guys interested in this - http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...Tray-New-Item-!!!

Andy@ECS reduced shipping on this item. I just checked and it now costs $67 to ship to Calgary.

Total price is still pricey IMO, but better than the original shipping price.

Edit - if you guys aren't buying other stuff from ECS already I'd definitely go with Colin
