  • Plug for Company from WoW

I got a flyer at WoW for anyone who is thinking about any custom exhaust, turbo, intercooler or intake setups. Here's the info:

    TechWorls Engineering Inc
    (403) 288-8568
    sales@techworkseng.com

They assured me that they can mandrel bend stainless steel for exhausts up to 3.5 inches in diameter. Since I am getting some thumping with more people in the back seat, I may get them to bend me a section and see how that goes.

Anyhow, just a new option in town.

Kor, remember my big story about my custom exhaust install on my Corrado? That was where I got it done. Rather than restate my opinions I'll just let you read it.

Re: Plug for Company from WoW

At the show the company was really interested in moving from Subaru stuff into the rest of the market including VW's.

Yeah Jason I remember, Simon reminded me. However, so far they are the only place I have found that can mandrel bend that kind of pipe...

For anyone else who doesn't remember Jason's post, he had a Corrado exhaust done custom and had to go back and get things fixed a whole bunch of times, and they didn't hang it properly if I recall.

I might go there and get a 3" cat-back made for my car. The 2.5" i have now is awesome but am afraid i'll be needing the 3" for where I want to take my car. I need a QUIET exhaust... I guess Techworks is THE place to go.

We'll see, maybe they can redeem themselves, Jason you can always shout "I told you so" if one of us has problems with the work I am also a bit concerned that maybe they will quote me too much.

What also interested me is that they will do turbo piping... most places say they won't touch making stuff for custom turbo setups. Really I think it is more cost-effective to put together your own kit compared to buying the pre-made kits. Plus you learn more about what you are doing to your car.

Well, aside from my difficulties, they have done some good stuff, and they love anything blown (I think that's why they openly accepted my s/c 'Rado). There is a good chance they will do a little better with turbos since they have played with a number of subies and some Saabs. yea, I had to go back quite a few times. The kind of thing that annoyed me was that they installed exhaust over the rear bar but didn't think to put enough clearance so when they lowered my car to the ground they didn't leave room for my suspension to compress!!

I don't know, even though i had a number of problems. the actual quality of "Work" (welds, bends, etc.) was REALLY good. Who know's maybe they've learned a few lessons since then.

Honestly, good luck with it, and I won't say "I told you so" since I understand you're dilemma, they were the only place I could find that did custom stuff (I had my heart set on a custom exhaust too). And the quality of material is really good also. Buuuuut it left me very frustrated (and them too). So, just make sure you don't mention me, haha.
