  • How do you fix melted plastic?

I need your help guys. I was installing my pedals today and I was using a halogen task lamp. I was being a lazy ass and had it propped on the lower door sill. Well, it melted a bit and I know its gonna start to piss me off b/c its the first thing you look at when you open the door. Does anyone know the best way to put that leathery texture back into plastic? The melted part is not that big and is only superficial.

Thanx. The pedals look good though.

Not sure of how you could fix that. Is it on the door sill itself? Then you could just get some cool alluminum door sills that say 1.8t or something.
Sidewalks are for normal walkin.... aint no room for fancy walkin....

Yeah Neil, That would be my suggestion too. It's a good excuse to get the brushed aluminum sills. Look into the kamei ones or on ebay for all sorts

there's one guy on vortex who makes nice custom ones. They're not that expensive and you can get almost anything.

You could also replace that piece. There is probably no way to fix it. Sills are really nice too.

In simple works... No. There is basicaly no way to repair plastic to the same way it looked before the damage. I would sugest replacement, new aluminum trim or just living with it until it pisses you off to the point that it is worth the $$ to fix
