Yeah, for sure it is. I think the North American market may be the only one that sells hitch mount racks without a full light bar too. To be completely legal, lights and plate should be moved back. Obviously not something they bother with too much given the amount of cars on the road like this, but if I catch trouble for it, I'll have to look in to a solution.

A Tiguan hitch is pretty simple, don't think it can be made for less.

Very nice setup indeed! Here is my Passat W8 pulling a drift boat. Since this picture I have upgraded the rear springs on my car and it sits a little more level with the car loaded as a result.

Rob had to change things up for mine. The 4motion cars have different rear bumper shocks (they're shorter in height) so the "arms" on the hitch that reach into the car's frame had to be changed.

Airlift 1000. For my passat, they work great. The kit was 90$ or so and install was fairly easy.

I wanted to go with air bags, but the 4motion suspension has the shocks inside the springs. So air bags won't fit - I bought stronger springs instead. I went with VW's strongest springs for a W8 Wagon with Sport Suspension.
