HELP: Temperature gauge fluctuating

Hey guys, yesterday when I was driving I noticed that my temperature gauge needle went down to 70 from 90 momentarily and back to 90 within one second, then after driving when I parked my car on my driveway( slightly slanted) the temp went down to 85.
Car is running perfectly but still worried. What is happening to my car?

Could it also be the thermostat being stuck open?

^^ that would usually not let it get up to temp. Also wouldn't change that quick

I wouldn't think it was a thermostat yet. If it was stuck open it wouldnt hit 90 and would just sit at 70. The CTS is easy to replace and I'd start with that imo

When my t stat went it was doing these symptoms

If its a sticking t-stat yes but unless he catches it when its stuck open and the gauge wont read past 70 its hard to diag when its actually opening and closing properly. At work I usually sell both, since a cts wont cost to much more on top of the t-stat replacement. but why not start with a cheap easy fix and go from there. never hurts to replace a part that is known for failing

My thermostat is fine, it reaches 90.

If you cant grab one from Colin and need it today i have one in my garage. but your car isn't going to catastrophically fail so up to you
