  • Wheels out of balance?

Hey guys my steering wheel has been shaking on me for the last couple of days now when going 100+. Last time I went home I got stuck in my parents driveway and my one wheel got filled with snow so when i drove it was horribly out of balance but it was warm that day so it melted out and drove fine again but now its kinda back but just a bit.. umm are my bolts loose somehow?? or could that snow fook it up now? never happened before to me so i'm kinda clueless

hit any potholes recently? a good bang is enough to throw your car out of alignment, but then again, your car wasn't really aligned since your suspension was it? it can't be your bolts, or else your wheels would be wobbling and snow can't cause a permanent misalignment.

Check if there is still some snow in your wheel-well or something. Same thing happened to me about a week ago. If it's not that... then Simon's probably right.

Have to watch out with alignments post lowering...your wheels will start cupping if you leave it too long like that...then you have a bit of that wobbling feeling.... just a thought....

Could be bolts, might as well check those, cause it only takes a min, and you'd hate to lose a wheel!

Ryan, are you reffering to your new 18's? Or is it your stock wheels that are giving you a problem?

This might sound stupid but where did you notice this? I was driving home along Crowchild today and it felt like my wheels were out of balance too. I know its not my wheels because that's the only place I noticed it. I think the new section of road on Crowchild has some undulations in it.

Hmmm. Which wheel is it coming from? The ones that NL did up too tight?

I think you just need to get your 18's on.

                          Re: Wheels out of balance?

if you drive a long time, and park, this may happen:

the water on the inside of the rims will freeze, and you will get ice stuck there, throwing the balance of the wheels off because of all that wait now stuck to a certain part of it. this happened to me before, car wash or alot of driving will eventually melt that. once mine was so bad that the seats in my car shook at certain speeds, i was freaking out.
