      Re: Seized ABS/speed sensor

I took a small drill bit and drilled 4 holes through the sensor's plastic (top/bottom/left/right), then took a pair of pliers and pulled the rest of it out, bit by bit.

I've got the same problem with mine. Its still in there and functional, just the clip is broken.

Can't see your pics at the moment but what I did with my abs sensor a while ago was to unplug it then soaked the sensor with brake cleaner about 3x10minutes. Came off pretty easy on mine.

                  happened to me as well

                  just hammer/drill/break it out

just be careful not to damage the abs ring

                    Re: Seized ABS/speed sensor

Thanks for all the replies. I torched it a bit and it came out nicely. And drilled out the rest of the bolt. The old one had no plastic left on the end of it and the metal plates were bent to the side. I wish I kept it but I figured I didn't need it anymore. Now when I come to a stop, abs kicks in right before the car comes to a complete stop. Curious to your comment natty, Could the abs ring cause this to happen? or just a faulty abs sensor? The abs sensor light is gone btw.

                      Re: Seized ABS/speed sensor

You could have bent the ring, but you also could not have done a good enough cleaning job before you put the new sensor back in. I have the same problem on the front, I didn't wire brush and clean everything good enough so the sensor sat perfectly the way it was designed.

                        Re: Seized ABS/speed sensor

The cleaning I did the best I can. I ran a polishing bit through it after the wire brush, and made sure it was pretty clean. Also can antisieze affect it?
So I'm going to check the ring, I have a bad feeling the way the sensor was damaged, it may have bent it.

                          Re: Seized ABS/speed sensor

anti seize shouldn't affect your abs sensor. just make sure the ring is clean and not bent. and check the spacing between the sensor and the ring to make sure its actually seated properly. good luck.
