Re: Brainstorm: DIY MK4 twin intake.

I was about to post what mech did. That was funny on vortex. Just do why Colin said. When I threw a cone on my vr I felt a noticeable power loss.

exactly what sean says, ur not gonna get any more power. just do a simple short ram, or a cold air and thats it. save for a turbo

As noted up top maybe use some duct venting... Or maybe pvc pipe all glues together and painted.

Easy to build up and you can always spray paint it black? Unless you like the aluminum look.

Im a sheet metal guy so thats what first came to mind

Re: Brainstorm: DIY MK4 twin intake.

Finished installing the pipe, took about 30min. Car has a Magnaflow catback, wierd custom tune. I can feel a bit more pull between 3000-5000 rpm. $4 performance mod is usually a joke for me but it does work. There's more room for more pipes, a third pipe may sound a bit ridiculous but should show a bit more gain, I would probably give it a shot as I have about 1 foot of 1.5inch piping left, if I don't do it ill just make a twin intake on mom's van.... Pics in ten minutes.

Doesn't look like much but is about the size of the stock intake pipe.

                          Tri-take? Is it really necessary?
