    Re: Just Installed Coilovers...

Speaking of coils, can we talk about kits to recommend? I'm looking at various setups and the price range is enormous:

    $699: http://store.concept1.ca/store/produ...ort-MK5-6-Kit/
    $899: http://store.concept1.ca/store/produ...overs-MK5-MK6/ (Adjustable)
    $1699: http://store.concept1.ca/store/product/57975/KW-V1-Coilovers-Golf-R-MK5R32/ (Adjustable)

        Re: Just Installed Coilovers...

@flipstah- FKs have a nice ride, not too stiff but get you around the corner nice, and go to a nice ride or slammed height from what ive had/ played with on my mk4, and on a friend's mk5.
KW are nice but pain in the ass with the plastic sprocket on the bottom of the adjustable spring in the front, and not a fan of the ride on KWs, really bucky on dips and bumps and to over priced for just v1s in my opinion.
Favorite set up for sure is the H&R super sport cup kit, nice ride height, comfortable ride, amazing performance for cornering.

Just my 2 cents from my experience.

They may settle but they would have by now. Shitty deal man, definitely don't cut them or you'll just mess things up more in the end.
Its a nice car and its still winter, sucks to wait but worth it in the end! Let me know if you need help with any thing.
All the research was done. Since i didnt plan on bagging it, it was between 2 sets of coils. I spent about 8 months making sure i was making the right decision, used winter to save money and not worry about it, and went with these because of what i read and saw, which ultimately IS research. I am happy with the ride quality, the build quality, the dampening settings and the camber adjustments. The height is fine, but im just very selfish when it comes to being low, nothing is ever enough. I will clean it up and take some photos soon.

Those instructions off the site are what came in the box too, they are set up the exact same. I will probably do some minor tinkering on the weekend and if anyone wants to pop by, you're more than welcome to! I live deep south, Auburn Bay. Ill keep this thread posted with progress and photos.
