I'm interested in getting one of the MK6 headlight switches with the chrome button, I just realized though that there are two types, one with auto and one without auto. Assuming I want to keep my DRL working which one should I get?

Re: MK6 headlight switch on MK4
If it is from a mk6, the connector won't be the same. You can get one with chrome that works for a mk4.

Re: MK6 headlight switch on MK4
What Martin said. Assuming they have a MK4 version of it with the Auto position and it works the same way as it does on MK6s, having it in the Auto position will make all of the lights come on when you start the car and all go out when you shut it off.Scott

Re: MK6 headlight switch on MK4
From what I read the MK6 and MK4 switches are the same connector, the MK5 is different?

Re: MK6 headlight switch on MK4
My plug is different than the MK4 one. Here's one for a MK6 Jetta: http://www.ecstuning.com/Volkswagen-...hes/ES2081100/
The switch itself looks a bit different than mine, but the plus looks the same.Scott

the Mk6 Jetta switch WILL work in a Mk4, they are identical.

Re: MK6 headlight switch on MK4
As a car starter installer that works on a lot of VW's I can say with authority that the best thing to do is get a MKiV switch. I have seen some MKVI that have the same plug as a MKIV but they have a single park light wire coming off them, and the MKIV has a separate left and right park light circuit.15 GTI
