How will this whole computer thing work? Will you pay for credits in order to flash it or whats the plan?

Update - Shawn will have everything set by mid next week.

I'm in the process of asking for details on how we will do the flashes.

I'm assuming there is some sort of system/program that keeps track of how many flashes are being used by logging the VIN. Kind of like my old Enthusiast BT Cable could only be used on 3 vehicles. That's just my guess for now. I will let you guys know the exact details once I get them.

Just got off the phone with Shawn, great guy.

Basically the tune files will be located on a server and will be categorized by name and when the connection is established from the UM server to our cars, the download will begin and trigger the security feature that locks that file to our ECU.

This is 100% going to happen now so whoever has expressed interest or for those who are lurking and would like to join in, please follow these instructions. Shawn needs each of us to send him an email to shawn@vndmotorsport.com with the following information:

Title/Subject:
United Motorsport Group Buy - Calgary/Eurodrivers

Body:
- Model/Year (VIN - not a requirement)
- Address
- Contact Information
- Which tune(s) you want and which Launch Control you want - 4400 RPM or 5400 RPM. Shawn personally recommends the 5400 RPM. (*Note* - MK4 guys, remember you will need to specify if you want Launch Control or not as it is a separate tune)


Please fire off the email to Shawn as soon as you can, as the sooner he has everyone's info he will begin to send out the invoice and we can get the ball rolling. Also, Shawn has stated he will work something off for us! How awesome is that?

Why couldnt you wait another 2 weeks! My tune wont be ready for this unfortunately. Ill speak with Jeffrey and see if theres any progress.

Shawn needs a little more info

"Spark cut on shift add 150$
1. Launch rpm: 4400 or 5400
2. Manual mode upshift disable: this will allow car to sit on rev limiter (not shifting), in 'M' mode"

Spark cut shift makes you fart / have a shotgun blast when you shift haha

Mk5 Spark cut

Mk5 Turbo Spark cut

Mk4 Turbo Spark cut

1. state which rpm LC you want
2. Yes or no to having auto upshift disabled in manual mode (only for Mk5 obviously)

Is there an actual group buy price or is that just in reference to organizing things?
