  • Ground Control Coilovers, good/bad??

Seen some of these, but they can use stock shocks, they have the hats, perches and the springs.....I think its soso, and would be better off with just springs/shocks for the money, but someone is selling them for like 400 bux (not sure what they are worth).....Anyone heard of or used or anything ground control????

Ground Control does have a decent reputation (the Japanese world). They do use Eibach springs in their kits.

I believe European Car went to Ground Control (or their parent company) to get a custom damper-spring setup for their project M3 with good results.

What are you looking for? A nice drop? Better handling?

I am not really sure how this product works, however if you are going to use the stock dampers but then adjust the height, you will run into the same problem of just getting new springs -- your dampers will wear out faster.

In fact this will probably wear your stock dampers out faster than just getting only new springs, since with this coilover kit thingy you might be going lower.

If you don't care about the stock dampers and are willing to buy new ones eventually, then it might be okay.

Personally I would just get a cheap spring/damper combination if you want to save some cash. FK or Weitec are the cheapest I think.

You can get a FK Hi Tec kit for $550 pre discount at C1, so maybe worth looking into.
