  • MK IV OEM HID help

I found the problem with my passenger light not always igniting but I'm stuck on how to fix it. The 10-12 pin conversion harness has a couple loose wires that need to be fixed and/or the plugs replaced. The only link I can find on how to do this has the DIY removed. Can anyone help with a copy of the DIY or IM me some pointers on how to open up the plugs so I can fix the wires? This is the link I used when I first installed them but I can't find the info anywhere on the internet.

Jeff if it is an OEM plug you need the pin tool kit (you can rig it with some safety pins but the tool makes it way easier). You pull the purple locking clip out of the plug from the slot on the side, this releases the pins, then you need the tool to release the clips on the wires.

The last step with the hot glue is a great idea. This is probably how all the terminals got corroded and ended up shorting out. Will do this once I have them all hooked up and working. I'll play around with some hairpins and see if I can get it to release while I'm waiting for the new ones to arrive.

In pic 3 above, which way do I move the pink part to get it to unlock the pins? In the direction of the arrow or opposite?

Should be in the direction of the arrow iirc.

No Worries. I'll keep it on my photobucket so it should be available for the next few years or until they go under lol.
