upgrade ideas?

so this weekend im heading up to lethbridge to hopefully purchase an 03 VW GTI(heard you guys arent pond of autos but bare with me, its my first car). was just looking for some ideas from expeienced VW drivers. thanks

Don't buy the auto, there is no point modding the engine as the trans will inevitably fail.

im not looking to mod the engine as much much as the exterior or interior

Like others have mentioned...don't buy the auto, I can almost guarantee you'll end up regretting it eventually. But if you must, like tirerub said, wide wheels, low and your set.

I had a Rave Green Auto, it was great, then I sold it when a manual came up for sale. Happier with the manual, except when in crazy traffic due to accidents then its gets a bit annoying

I also agree with lowering and then wheels. The first car I bought myself was a manual, and I had only driven one once before for about 10 minutes. I got used to it in less than a day and then wasn't even having to think about what I was doing within the first week. Find one with a stick and just drive it... You'll be used to it in no time and won't regret it!

Another question, a couple of my buddies also on this site told me to look into doing a fishbowl instead of tint

Fishbowl or tint is which ever you prefer...I personally like tint, but Patryk's one of many guys that prefers the fishbowl...I think it depends on the color of the car too.

tint can look good, i have it, lots of other people have it. i now regret it though; not because of tickets or anything like that. its just i think that the money could be used for something better like suspension, or nicer wheels.
