Pd tdi starts then stalls?

So I've had a problem ever since I bought my tdi, was dumb and didn't get a cold start out of it before I bought it.

If it sits let's say all night, it will start but then stall when I first start driving, so in between shifts, or if I come to a stop, and then after stalling about twice it will be fine.

Doesn't matter the temperature, even did it in summer.
Almost like fuel pressure is bleeding off, if it sits for a few hrs or more.

I've already replaced;
-tandem pump/gasket was leaking
-coolant sensor/thermostat was throwing a code
-fuel filter, and 2 o-rings, also replaced the hose clamps
-fuel hose to tandem pump that was cracked
-in tank fuel pump/seal
-crankshaft position sensor

I've checked the glowplugs, they were all showing 0.8 ohms, and it has had the glow plug and egr recall.

Should I check timing? Wouldn't that make it hard to start every time?

Car has 255 some odd kms

it doesn't go into limp mode at all or just stalls?

this may be related. I know it's idle but it sounds like it stalls when the clutch is engaged. most of throw stuff is removable without negative effects but the egr will throw a code if removed.

No limp mode just stalls

yeah the lift pump on top of the tank is a common culprit too. mine went at 100k.

I've a problem with a ASZ PD 130 which has a somewhat similar problem which I haven't solved it is Turbo related. In my case the car runs normal until it gets into the boost range which it will work for the first time until I change gear but it will kick into limp mode after once it realizes it has a problem. It's sticky vanes or the actuator possibly a small fix or new turbo....

Back to your car by the sounds of it. It is doing the same as mine in that it only realizes there is a problem once you get to the gear change. So I'd get it scanned to see what turns up. OR it could be the fueling as you said where it will get plenty of fuel at the higher rpm but once you let up it will drop the flow rate and once it goes to draw fuel again there isn't enough getting to it. I'd change the fuel filter and see if it makes an improvement or even if its a slight improvement it might show that it is in the area of fueling and you have made a dent to the problem and you can look further than there. It is a cheap place to begin with and if I'm wrong it is just the cost of a fuel filter.

I was scanning it yesterday, torsion value is at 2.0 instead of the 0.5-1 that
it should be.

I've already replaced the fuel filter, haven't had the problem in a while, but I'm gonna replace the crankshaft positon sensor as well.

For a while nothing happened, but I still replaced my crankshaft position sensor, seemed to start better.

Then it did it again, so now I replaced the in tank fuel pump, im curious to see what happens in the next few days.

Well problems still not fixed, got in my car at lunch, extended cranking, and stalled at the first two intersections.

Well problems still not fixed, got in my car at lunch, extended cranking, and stalled at the first two intersections.

on my Passat, the extended cranking was caused by an intermittent EGR issue. It ran fine once started though. They replaced half the mechanical components of car (not exaggerating) trying to sort it out because it never gave faulty readings when hooked up to scanner.

Unplug the egr and see if that makes any difference. Sounds stupid, but this problem you have is not exactly logical either.

Unplugged egr, no difference same symptoms.
