  • 2.5 6spd auto questions

In the ever expanding quest to supercharge more cars, we are looking for a 2.5 manual, however I have come across a 2.5 jetta with the autostick.

Does anyone on here have one? Can u confirm if you stick it in manual mode and drive at 10-15 kph in second, and floor it, that it doesn't kick down into first?

As we are going to dyno this car, it is imperative that it stays in the gear we tell it.

On the tip trannys it forces a downshift to prevent a stall but not when heavy acceleration. I would think that to be normal as you would want the option to prevent down shifts in icy conditions.

It will also force a shift if you get close to redline.

On my tip, I set it with vagcom to not shift. Redline is now possible.

      Sorry I forgot about this.

Are you saying with the vag-com you can set it to shift as late as possible or keep it at redline forever?

Also as we need to dyno the cars a lot it is imperative that it doesn't down shift when I step on it. I will roll over to a dealer to check it out. Otherwise will just stick to manual cars.

Btw, why do dealers have the cheapest rabbits and 2.5 jettas in town? It's insane. The cars are almost 7 years old - 2006 and people still want over 10k for one with no leather and 120kms. Rant off.

We are done developing the 2.slow. Plus I still have it for any future development. We arecurrently waiting for a eurodyne that needs custom to our application for those that demand custom tunes.

Expanding onto the 2.5 line, was just lamenting that a dealer is cheapest! That shows people are overpricing theirs??

Actually just reread your post. That is super crazy when a new base jetta is 14+++.
