  • Suspension Guru's Please take a peak

    Hey guys,

So I switched over to my winters last night. The front right strut assembly seems to move freely up and down when I push downward on the tire (see video). There's no noises when driving whatsoever. I'm assuming strut mount bushing? Bearing? Not sure. Input's appreciated. Car is 03 Golf with H&R cup kit.

Is your car jacked up in this video? If so then it is completely normal.

The upper strut mount sits inside the strut tower and gravity holds it in place and centers it. On the road it won't have any play, in the air it can be moved up and down, as well as all 4 horizontal directions (within reason)

Then i'm out of ideas. My coilovers both used to shake like that when i lifted the car on jackstands when working on it.

Mine do it too and I haven't had issues, the bushings are new as well. Just don't take any jumps and you should be fine.
